Shared Facility Scheme :FG target Small Business Owners In Nigeria

Have you heard about the shared facility scheme being facilitated by the government? It’s being championed by the Federal government of Nigeria to help micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) mitigate the challenges posses by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The vice president made this offer. The Government is proposing to businesses owners and executive known to the public for the first time at the State House, Abuja.

From all indication over 1,500 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) has been targeted

Benefits of MSMEs’ Shared Facility Scheme

Over 150 business will greatly benefit and more MSMEs will have unfiltered access to essential amenities like broadband connectivity, high quality operating equipment and electricity as promised by the government.

Through this scheme the Government will do all within its power to help striving businesses reduce running and overhead cost

Partners of MSMEs’ Shared Facility Scheme

To help get to businesses at the grassroot and community level the federal government will partner with other corporate bodies that will help implement, provide necessary support on behalf of the federal government.

The federal government will engage the
Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and its sister Bank, the Bank of Industry (BoI), Nigerian Export and Import Bank (NEXIM)

In addition to the above listed banks, the government looks forward to bringing in more Agencies under its control such as

Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN),Microfinance Bank and other banks with international recognition like NEXIM and new NIRSAL

List of MSMEs Shared Facilities in Nigeria

The federal government has been up and doing in the aspect of promoting policies that will help the businesses of Nigerians expand and witness growth .

In time past, 2018 precisely the Government introduced a scheme for Shea Butter and Garments to help firm in that industry stand on their feet again.

Again in 2019, A shared facility in Bauchi state was introduced by the vice president that target a small sector of the economy.

2020 saw the Zaki Biam International Yam Market storage facility come into service with a storage capacity of about 200, 000

Just recently the federal Government introduced Fashion Cluster Shared Facility for MSMEs in Lagos.
