More on why Nigeria Police should carry massive recruitment this years
Katsina state governor made a shocking revelation, he said that Nigerians are seriously under police.
He said in Katsina there are just only 30 police men that provides security to 100 villages in the state.
Of recent there has been constant attacks on farm settlements, cattle rustlers are having a field day and armed groups of various units are operating mostly in the remote part of Northern and Southern Nigeria.
The number of police men on record stands at 371, 000 ; with a population of 200 million the data shows 600 Nigerians are governed by just 1 police man
but the reality on ground is that a large percentage of the Nigerian police are attached to VIP where they offer protection to the very rich amongst the society.
Expert believes that even if Nigeria are able to recruit over 40,000 constable right now, it still won’t be enough to cover the long time deficit of under policing.
To get it right, the Nigerian police force needs to urgently carry out massive recruitment of over 155,000 only this number will be enough to cover the current deficit.
